Anne has a beautiful eye for interesting, eclectic pieces but struggled to combine her clothing into an equally interesting, eclectic “wardrobe.” We did some aggressive editing, filtered-out items that did not reflect her luminous personality or flatter her gorgeous figure and created looks that celebrate her vivacious identity (and not a black tee nor a black shoe permitted in the mix).
I could be categorized as an “organized hoarder” or a “closet clothes hoarder” (pun fully intended). I am notorious for buying clothes, bags and shoes with no sense of purpose. I don’t think of outfits, I just buy things that I think are cute, and tend to keep items forever if they still fit, then proceed to never wear 90% of the items in my closet.
Kathryn guided me through weeding out items that are outdated, bland, and simply “not me.” She has gorgeous taste and is especially talented at combing pieces to create stunning looks – steering me from my old standby look of a black shirt and jeans…with black shoes.
She helped me clear out more than 100 items from my closet, allowing me to actually see the items that are right for me. Then, she pulled together multiple creative outfit options, accessories and all, to show me that I can truly create limitless looks out of pieces that I already own.
You can’t put a value on what Kathryn can do for your wardrobe, she brought my closet back to life and made me excited to play dress up again! —Anne B.
Jake’s wardrobe was a healthy dose of athleisure – reflective of his career as a personal trainer – coupled with a mix of classic and on-trend pieces. We focused on blending his quality athleisure pieces into his “off-the-clock” attire to create a robust collection of looks solely utilizing his existing pieces. The result was a revitalized – yet genuine – refresh of his personal style and a renewed sense of how his items can drift between “work” and “play.”
I warned Kathryn before our session that the majority of my closet was gym gear and she likely wouldn’t have a ton to work with; I was shocked when she started pulling things together using my training clothes and everything looked intentional and stylish (bonus points for comfort). This experience definitely made me realize there can, and should be, overlap in my wardrobe. She also connected me with a great tailor: I had several things I never wore simply because they were “off” somehow (typical for an athletic build) and with some minor adjustment they’re now good-to-go. This was an awesome experience and I’m challenging myself to rework the things I already own now instead of immediately buying something new. —Jake A.
Barb had a wealth of inspired, versatile pieces hidden in her closet: We focused on thoughtful elimination of the clothing detracting from her style (and cluttering her view of options) and showed her how to pair elements she traditionally thought were strictly “work attire” with casual and evening items. Her scaled-down wardrobe yielded double the looks, and felt fresh – and appropriately youthful – for a vibrant woman in her fifties.
Working with Kathryn was cathartic and fun: At first, it was a tad nerve-wracking to part with some items I had become comfortable with (not necessarily for the right reasons) but when we were finished, I had a wardrobe full of clothing that was relevant, appropriate, stylish and put-together in ways I never imagined. I used to think all of my “work” clothing wouldn’t translate to casual or evening: Kathryn helped me discover how interchangeable my pieces were and it feels like I doubled my wardrobe (and I donated two huge bags of clothes!) —Barb P.
